GCRA leader receives delegation from Da’wah and Community Development Commission of Indonesian Ulema Council

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn hosted on May 10 a reception for a visiting delegation from the Da’wah and Community Development Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council led by Chairman Kholil Nafis.
Joining the reception included Director of the GCRA’s International Relation Department Nguyễn Đức Vinh and representatives from the GCRA’s Office and Other Religions Department.
During the reception, Chairman Kholil Nafis shared with the hosts about the Da’wah and Community Development Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council and expressed hope that religious relations between Vietnam and Indonesia would be promoted in the coming time.
Overview of the reception
Sharing with the guests, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn stated that Vietnam is a multi–religious country with many religious followers and the Vietnamese Party and State always respect and guarantee everyone’s right to freedom of belief and religion as well as ensure all religions are equal before the law. According to the GCRA leader, currently, the Muslim community in Vietnam has about 80,000 followers and the Vietnamese government has created favorable conditions for the Muslim community to improve their material and spiritual life.
The Vice Chairman also expressed his hope that the Indonesia Commission would guide and support the Halal certification of Vietnam through providing technical and training supports for meeting requirements of the global Halal food market, creating favorable conditions for exporting Vietnamese goods into Muslim countries.
