Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Huỳnh Đức Thơ hosted on November 26 a reception for visiting Archbishop Marek Zalewski - Special Envoy of Vatican to Viet Nam.
Joining the reception included Chairman of the municipal religious affairs committee Ngô Khôi.
During the event, Chairman Huỳnh Đức Thơ spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Catholic community to socio-economic development in the city and expressed hope that the visit of Archbishop Marek Zalewski would contribute to strengthen the mutual understanding and trust between the Catholic Church and the state authority in the city.
Archbishop Marek Zalewski praised the cordial relation between Da Nang Diocese and the municipal authority, as well as regarded the relationship between the Catholic Church with central and local governments as of great importance.
Archbishop Marek Zalewski is on a visit to Da Nang Diocese from November 24-27.
