Buddhist dignitaries receive doctorates of honor from Apollos University

Apollos University held on September 6 a ceremony at the National Academy of Public Administration’s branch in Ho Chi Minh City for presenting certificates to graduation students of online courses and honorary doctorates and professors to individuals with social and educational impacts in communities.  

During the ceremony, on behalf of Dr. Paul Eidson, Executive Director of Apollos University, Prof. Phạm Quốc Luyến – Lecturer of Apollos University in Vietnam presented the doctorate certificate to Venerable Thích Thiện Thông, Abbot of Hong Quang Pagoda located in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. Ven. Thích Thiện Thông is currently Head of Hong Quang Charity Center, Director of Center for Studies of Culture and Religion in Southeast Asia.

Receiving honorary doctorates at the event included Most Venerable Thích Thiện An, Abbot of Tan Hoa Pagoda in Binh Duong cum Standing Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Binh Duong; Seniour Venerable Thích Phước Quang, Abbot of Pho Tinh Pagoda in Dong Thap and; Seniour Venerable Thích Nhuận Quang, Abbot of Lien Ngo in Ho Chi Minh City cum Standing Member of the Executive Committee of the VBS in the city.

The presentation of honorary doctorates and professors by Apollos University aims to honor recipients for their outstanding contributions in the field of community education and development through teaching and research.
