Vietnam Presbyterian Church visits Government Religious Committee

A delegation from the Presbyterian Church of Vietnam led by Pastor Điểu Bôi paid a working visit to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on Jan 15.

Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and representatives of Department of Protestant Affairs welcomed the delegation.

At the visiting reception, the delegation raised and discussed with the hosts issues related to ordination, appointment of dignitaries, biblical and theological teaching and the location of headquarters of the church. The delegation took the chance to extend New Year wishes to the GCRA leaders and officials, and expressed his hope that the GCRA would continue to create favorable conditions for the Church’s activities in the coming time.

Speaking at the reception meeting, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà highly appreciated efforts and achievements made by the Church over the past years. He asked the Church’s Executive Committee to guide followers to abide by laws and actively participate in social and charitable activities, contributing to the country’s development.

On this occasion, he also wished Presbyterian dignitaries and followers a happy new year 2015.

The Church now has around 17,000 followers residing in 22 provinces and cities across the country.
