Vietnam Full Gospel Church receives registration certificate

The Vietnam Full Gospel Church held on September 11 a solemn ceremony to receive the registration certificate.  

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng attended the ceremony and presented the registration certificate to the church.

Speaking at the event, while extending his congratulations to all followers of the Vietnam Full Gospel Church, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed hope that the church would become a typical example in implementing the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and the government Decree No. 162/2017/ND-CP on detailing a number of articles and providing measures for the implementation of the new religious law. The GCRA Chairman also urged all Full Gospel followers to uphold fine traditions and make further contributions to the country.

During the ceremony, the church handed over VND 100 million in cash for helping victims of floods and landslides in Northern provinces to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s committee in the city.

Speaking at the event, General Pastor of the church Đinh Thanh Hùng took the chance to thank State authorities, including the GCRA especially, for creating favorable conditions to Protestant sects in general and the Vietnam Full Gospel Church in particular.

The Vietnam Full Gospel Church has become the first religious organization in Vietnam to be granted the registration certificate according to the Law on Belief and Religion taking effect on January 1, 2018.

The Vietnam Full Gospel Church was established in 1990. As of June 2018, the church has had about 7,000 followers with 201 groups in 38 provinces and cities throughout the country. Currently, the temporary headquarters of the church is located in Ho Chi Minh City’s Phu Nhuan district.
