Vietnam Baptist Church (Southern) representatives pay Tet visit to Government Committee for Religious Affairs

On February 12, 2014, at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice Chairman of the Committee, received a delegation from the Vietnam Baptist Church (Southern) led by Pastor Nguyễn Võ Khánh Giám its first Vice President. Attending the reception were also leaders and officials from the Committee’s Department of Protestant Affairs.
On behalf of the Vietnam Baptist Church (Southern), Pastor Nguyễn Võ Giám Khánh thanked the GCRA for its warm welcome. He briefed the hosts about the Church’s activities and achievements reaped in the past year. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2014, he wished the Committee’s leaders and officials good heath and a happy new year. He expressed his hope that the GCRA will continue creating favorable conditions for the Church in the future.
On behalf of the Committee’s leaders, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà also wished the Church’s pastors and Protestants believers a happy and prosperous new year. He said that in the past year, the Evangelical Churches of Vietnam in general and the Vietnam Baptist Church (Southern) in particular saw stable development with their internal activities being consolidated, creating consensus among the localities and religious activities conducted in accordance with the law. He expressed his hope that the Church will continue to improve worshipping places, and its relations with local authorities, and encourage followers to join social and charitable activities as well as efforts to build and develop the country.
