Vietnam Government Religious Committee and Cambodia Ministry of Cults and Religion sign a cooperation agreement in religious affairs for the 2022-2026 period. 

At the working meeting with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs held on November 21, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng highlighted the effective cooperation activities conducted by the Vietnamese Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Cults and Religion in the 2015-2020 period, including high-level visits for religious exchanges and sharing of experiences in the State management on religious affairs, coordination among State management agencies in charge of religious affairs in border localities, and favorable conditions created for the two countries' Buddhist Sanghas to strengthen ties, etc.

These cooperation activities have contributed to enhance the State administration on religious affairs in each country and strengthen information sharing and cooperation between the two state agencies on religious affairs, thus contributing to fostering and developing the friendly and neighborly relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, he added.

Minister Chhit Sokhon highly appreciated the coordination of the Vietnamese Government Committee for Religious Affairs, and said the cooperation relation between the two agencies ministries have been contributing to help the two countries’ governments and peoples consolidate the friendly and neighborly relationship, strengthen peace and prosperity, and practically serve interests of peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

At the talk, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation activities in the coming time, including exchanges of high-level delegations, training coordination and facilitation of exchanges and cooperation between the Buddhist churches of the two countries.
