Two Catholic congregations receive registration certificate

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) presented the registration certificate to the Catholic Congregation of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians at its headquarter in Ho Chi Minh city’s Thu Duc district on April 22.  

Speaking at the event, while extending congratulatory greetings to the congregation, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Dương Ngọc Tấn praised the congregation’s practical contributions to education programs for poor children, migrant children under difficult circumstances.

It’s reported that the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians currently has more than 4,000 congregations with over 13,000 members from 93 countries across the world. The congregation in Vietnam was established in 1961 with the motto “Education, promotion of poor and abandoned children”, and the congregation is operating mainly in Ho Chi Minh city and provinces of Dong Nai and Ninh Thuan.

Earlier, Vice Chairman of the GCRA led a delegation to visit and present the registration certificate to the Dominican Sisters Congregation of St. Rose of Lima at its office in Ho Chi Minh city’s Thu Duc district. The Dominican Sisters Congregation of St. Rose of Lima became the 57th congregation in Vietnam received registration certificate./.
