A delegation from the Southern office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council led by Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Tánh visited the Southern religious affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on February 9, ahead of the traditional New Year (Tet festival).
Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng and Deputy Director of the GCRA’s Department for Southern religious Affairs Trà Quang Thanh welcomed the VBS delegation.
During the visiting reception, while extending Tet greetings to officials and staff of the GCRA, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tánh took the chance to thank the GCRA in general and the Southern office in particular for their due attention extended to the VBS. He also expressed his hope that the GCRA would continue creating favorable conditions to Buddhist affairs of the Sangha.
On the same day, delegations led by Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS Chapter in Dong Nai province Thích Huệ Khai and Chairman of Dong Nai provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Quốc Vũ also visited and extended Tet greetings the GCRA’s Southern religious affairs department
