Vietnam Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on December 12 a seminar to gather opinions on the Vietnamese law subject to be used in religious training institutions.
The seminar taking place in Ho Chi Minh city was chaired by Vice Chairmen of GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Trần Tấn Hùng, and attended by representatives of the ministry of home affairs, the ministry of justice and religious organizations and religious schools in 11 Southern provinces and cities.
The seminar recorded 21 comments focusing on the educating level and form, the number of credit of the subject, teaching and learning methods, textbooks and references.
A majority of participants agreed with the five lessons of the subject. Other comments suggested to give more space for laws on belief and religion, as well as to add laws on military service, environment and traffic safety to the subject content.
