The Government Committee for Religious Affairs held on July 6 a seminar to gather comments on the implementation of Law on Belief and Religion and its Decree 162.
Attending the event included Deputy Minister of Home Affair Vũ Chiến Thắng, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Adolescents Hoàng Thị Hoa, leaders of the GCRA, representatives from the provincial level religious committee of several provinces and cities and large numbers of religious scholars and experts.
The event focused on difficulties in the implementation of Law on Belief and Religion and its Decree 162 over past three years including the understanding and application of contents relating dignitaries and deacons, sub-organizations, registration of collective religious activities, registration of appointed or elected deacons, etc.

Addressing at the event, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng urged the GCRA to carefully evaluate advantages and disadvantages in the implementation of Law on Belief and Religion and its Decree 162, and give detailed guidance to local authorities for solving issues relating to belief and religion. He also requested the GCRA and local authorities to continue disseminating the new religious law to officials tasked with the state administration on belief and religion and religious dignitaries, deacons and followers.
