Religious representatives attend seminar on draft law on belief, religion

Representatives from several religious organizations have joint religious scholars and state officials to discuss the 4th draft law on belief and religion at a seminar held on April 20 in Hanoi.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and attended also by former Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Thế Doanh, former Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hữu Oanh.

During the event, delegates discussed many issues including conditions for, and competence on recognition of religious organizations, establishment, division, separation and merger or consolidation of dependent religious organizations; establishment of religious training schools; participation of foreigners in religious training schools in Vietnam…

As reported, the 4th draft law contains 71 articles arranged in 12 chapters, including several changes as compared with the previous draft.

Currently, the 4th draft of Vietnam’s proposed law on belief and religion has been made public through the websites of the Government, Ministry of Home Affairs and the GCRA for comments.
