Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức on January 27 hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from the Vietnam Full Gospel Church led by President Đinh Thanh Hùng, ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.
At the visiting reception, President Đinh Thanh Hùng extended Traditional New Year wishes to officials and employees of the GCRA and took the chance to share with the host religious affairs of the Church in 2020.
Speaking with the guests, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chức praised social charitable contributions of the Vietnam Full Gospel Church, the first religious organization recognized under the Law on Belief and Religion 2016. He expressed hope that the Protestant church would encourage followers to join in movements and programs launched by local authorities.
The Vice Chairman also extended Tet greetings to the Christian church and its members in the country.

On the same day, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chức also received a delegation from the Executive Committee of the Union of Superiors General of Vietnam led by Priest General Secretary Joseph Phan Trọng Quang.

At the welcoming reception, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chức spoke highly of practical contributions of the Vietnam Catholic Church in general and the Union of Superiors General of Vietnam in particular, in the field of medication, education, social welfare, etc, including supports to the Covid-19 prevention work and people severely affected by floods in the Central region last year.
The Vice Chairman expressed hope that Catholic priests and clergies will continue upholding fine traditions, encouraging followers to proactively join in social movements and programs, and making practical contributions for the country development.

He also took the chance to convey the New Year filled with health and success to members of the delegation.
Earlier, on January 26 A delegation from the Correction-Path Caodai Church led by Bishop Thượng Mai Thanh, Member of the Caodai church’s executive committee, Head of Hanoi parish visited and extended Tet wishes to the GCRA.
