The Ministry of Home Affairs held on October 27 a meeting with concerning agencies to help the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in organizing its ninth national congress, the 2022-2027 tenure.

The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng and attended by Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Vice President of the VBS Central Executive Committee cum Head of the organization board of the 9th VBS congress; and members of the inter-ministerial working group set up by the Ministry of Home Affairs for guiding the VBS in organizing its congress.

During the meeting, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu informed preparation works for the ninth national congress as well as suggested practical issues for ensuring security, health, communication, etc. He expressed hope that the central and local authorities would support and guide the VBS to successfully organize its 9th national congress.
Concluding the event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Head of the interdisciplinary-working group assigned specific tasks to each member of the working group and asked them to provide maximal assistance for the VBS in order to ensure successes of the congress.
