Northern Evangelical Church extends Tet visit to Government Religious Committee

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng hosted on January 21 a warm reception for a visiting delegation from the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) (ECVN) led by Pastor President Nguyễn Hữu Mạc, ahead of Lunar New Year 2022 (Tet).

Overview of the visiting reception

During the visit, Pastor President Nguyễn Hữu Mạc extended Tet greetings to GCRA’s officials and staff, and shared with the host the Church’s activities in 2021.

The Pastor President noted that, thanks to guidance and support from the GCRA’s and local authorities, religious practices of the Church’s members have been safely ensured together, with a strict implementation Covid-19 preventive measures guided by the Government, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the GCRA and local authorities and many supports sent people affected by the Covid-19.

The Pastor also informed about the Church’s national congress slated for April.

For his part, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng thanked the ECVN delegation for its visit ahead of the Vietnamese traditional New Year 2022 and spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Church for the socio-economic of the country and the Covid-19 prevention work.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng expressed hope that the Church would continue encouraging its members to proactively join patriotic programs and movements launched by local authorities.

On the occasion, the GCRA official wished the Pastor President, pastors and all members of the evangelical Church a happy and successful New Year 2022.
