New Deputy Minister of Home Affairs congratulates Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on Vu Lan Festival

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng visited on August 28 the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) based in Quan Su pagoda located in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District, on the occasion of the Vu Lan Festival 2020.
The Deputy Minister visit accompanied by Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga was welcomed by Most Venerable Permanent Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu and Senior Venerable Vice President cum General Secretary of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Đức Thiện.
During the visiting reception, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng extended greetings to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu and Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival. The deputy minister also spoke highly of VBS’s efforts in scaling down ceremonies and large gatherings during the festival for preventing Covid-19 outbreak.
