The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, Minister of Home Affairs Nguyễn Thái Bình and Chairman of the GCRA Phạm Dũng, and attended by representatives from the central agencies, the provincial people’s committees, home affairs departments and the provincial committee for religious affairs throughout the country.

As reported at the meeting, over the past 10 years, the implementation of Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism has practically obtained many important results, contributing to build and strengthen the national unity bloc and social security. Currently, there are over 600 recognized Protestant chapters and over 2,700 registered congregations belonging to 40 Protestant organizations and sects in 54 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc highly praised results of ten-year implementation of Directive 01 made by central and local authorities as well as playing roles by the GCRA. He also urged the central and local competent authorities to overcome difficulties, address remaining issues in several localities, as well as encourage followers to live for “ better secular and religious life” and follow the motto “Living the Gospel, Worshipping God, Serving the Fatherland and the Nation”.

On this occasion, the GCRA was awarded the 3^rd-Class Labor Order by the State President; Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the GCRA awarded certificates of merit to typical collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in the implementation of tasks regarding Protestantism.
