Overview of the ceremony

On the occasion of the Buddha’s birthday 2014 – B.E 2558, on May 4, 2014, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice – Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thích Thanh Sam, Deputy Patriarch cum General Secretary of the Discernment Council, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Deputy Secretary of the Discernment Council and leaders from the Executive Board of the Bac Ninh province Buddhist Sangha at Dai Thanh pagoda, Bac Ninh province.

On behalf of the GCRA, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà extended best wishes to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Sam, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in Bac Ninh province. He also shared with the host on government agencies’ support and assistance extended to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in preparation for the 2014 UN Day of Vesak in Ninh Binh province

On the same day, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà and the delegation attended the Buddha’s birthday 2014 ceremony held by the Bac Ninh’s Buddhist Sangha. The organization of this ceremony in Bac Ninh province which included the Buddha bathing and other Buddhist rituals was also ass congratulatory event to the UN Day of Vesak in Bai Dinh pagoda, Ninh Binh (from May 8 -10, 2014).
