Leader of Government Religious Committee extends greetings to Buddhist dignitaries on Buddha’s Birthday

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc paid 25 on May a visit to Most Venerable Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Thích Trí Quảng in Hue Nghiem Pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City, ahead of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2023 (B.E. 2567).

Joining the visiting reception included Senior Venerable Thích Giác Dũng, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, the VBS patriarch’s Secretary, and Venerable Thích Tâm Hải, Editor in Chief of Giac Ngo (Enlightenment) Magazine.
At the visiting reception, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc extended warm greetings and blissful celebrations of the Buddha’s Birthday 2023 to the Buddhist leader, other dignitaries and all Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers. The official highlighted participations of the VBS’s monk, nuns and lay Buddhists in patriotic and social welfare programs in localities launched for serving people’s interests. The GCRA leader also expressed hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers would further spread the Buddha’s moral values, and uphold the spirit of protecting the country and serving its people, lead a good secular and religious life, well observe the Party’s policies and State laws, and strengthen the national unity bloc.
Speaking with the guest, Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng expressed his delight and thanked the leader of the government religious committee for his visit and greetings on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival. The Buddhist dignitaries took the chance to inform about results of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s participation in international Buddhist activities.
On the same day, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc also visited and extended Buddha’s Birthday greetings to Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the VBS Thích Đức Nghiệp in Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City, and Most Venerable Thích Giác Toàn, Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh City.
