Joint Working Group holds a meeting for the United Nations Day of Vesak 2014 in Vietnam

On April 8, 2014, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held Joint Working Group meeting to help the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) host the United Nations Day of Vesak 2014 in Vietnam

Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the GCRA chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were members of the Join Working Group from 11 from State ministries, central agencies and 4 localities.

The meeting was informed of preparation works assigned to each ministries, agencies and localities by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc in order to help the VBS hosting the United Nations Day of Vesak 2014

At the meeting, the representatives from ministries, central agencies and localities pointed out the advantages and disadvantage, and raised comments and suggestions in guiding the VBS hosting the United Nations Day of Vesak 2014 in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dũng stated that the ministries, agencies and localities have simultaneously and proactively implemented the preparation work to help the VBS. He urged the Joint Working Group to closely coordinate in fulfilling the specific tasks assigned to ministries, central agencies, localities and the VBS in order to ensure successful preparation for the upcoming hosting of UN Vesak Day.
