A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs paid an inspection visit to Hung Yen province on May 27-31 for inspecting the implementation of the new law on belief and religion in the province.
During the visit, the delegation had meetings with the provincial People's Committee, Hung Yen municipal People's Committee and district authorities of Yen My and Van Giang for assessing the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016, as well as took a field trip to several belief and religious establishments in the province.
Hung Yen is a province in the center of Red River Delta with an area of 930 km2 and population of over 1,2 million people.
The province currently has 618 Buddhist pagodas, 80 Catholic churches and chapels under 26 Catholic parishes, and 18 Protestant congregations, as well as 1,802 belief establishments in the province.
