Home affairs ministry’s working group visits Vietnam Pure – Land Buddhist Association

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) cum Head of the working group of Ministry of Home Affairs Nguyễn Tiến Trọng paid on September 8 a working visit to the Vietnam Pure – Land Buddhist Association.

Speaking with the host, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng spoke highly of practical efforts of the Vietnam pure-land Buddhist association in strictly observing directives of the Prime Minister and regulations of local authorities for preventing the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as their charitable work for supporting people hard hit by the pandemic. He also highlighted the Pure-land Buddhist association’s donation of hundreds of million VND to the Covid-19 vaccine fund and its clinics actively providing medicines, medical equipment and other necessities for the pandemic’s prevention work in localities.

The GCRA’s official also expressed hope that the Pure-land Buddhist association would continue encouraging dignitaries, deacons and practitioners to strictly observe preventive measures against Covid-19 pandemic, as well as make more contributions for helping disadvantaged people in provinces and cities imposed with strict social distancing.

Speaking with the guests, Chairman of the Pure-land Buddhist Association’s Central Executive Committee Nguyễn Văn Tuy thanked the home affairs ministry’s working group for its due attention and support extended to the Pure-land Buddhist association and practitioners, and informed that from March to August 2021, the association has successfully raised a fund worth over 7,8 billion VND for contributing to the Covid-19 Vaccine fund.
