A delegation of Home Affairs Ministry’s Working Group led by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức had on October 27 a working meeting with heads of the provincial commission on mass mobilization, the Vietnam Fatherland front committee, the department of public security and the department of home affairs in the southern province of Ben Tre.
Joining the event also included Director of GCRA’s Southern Affairs Department Trà Quang Thanh and Deputy Director of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Southern Affairs Department Phạm Thanh Tuyền.
During the working meting, Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department Đào Văn Tụ briefed the delegation the state management on belief and religion, and the Covid-19 prevention work launched by religious organizations in Ben Tre over the past months, and informed that during the pandemic religious organizations in the province have sent supports of cash and essential supplies valued at over 11 billion VND in total to the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức highly appreciated results of the state administration on belief and religion of the home affairs department, as well as its efforts in guiding and supporting religious organizations in the province to implement the Covid-19 prevention measures according to directive notifications of the Prime Minister, the health sector, the Home Affairs Ministry, the GCRA, and local authorities in line with the Government’s resolution for safe and flexible adaption and effective control over the Covid-10 pandemic dated October 11 this year.

He also asked the provincial committee for religious affairs, under the home affairs department) to develop a land planning for religion and strengthen the management board of belief places, and guide and create favorable conditions for the national congress (2022-2027) of the Ban Chinh (Correction-path) Caodai Church, the establishment of the Caodai Institute under the Tien Thien (Ante-creation) Caodai Church and the online celebration of the 40th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Ben Tre, etc.
On the occasion, the Home Affairs Ministry’s working group delegation visited and met with leaders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Ben Tre, the Pure-land Lay Buddhist Association, the Ban Chinh (Correction-path) Caodai Church and the Tien Thien (Ante-creation) Caodai Church in the province for exchanges on religious practices and the Covid-19 prevention work over the past months.
