Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng visited the Archdiocese of Hue in central Thua Thien-Hue province and met with Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh on December 22, ahead of Christmas 2020.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister included Director of Catholic Affairs Department of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Minh Khánh and representative leaders of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri provinces.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng extended warm celebrations of Christmas to Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh and all dignitaries and parishioners of the Archdiocese of Hue. He highly appreciated the archdiocese’s contributions in social charities, including practical supports to the Covid-19 prevention work and relief supplies sent to flood victims in the Central region this year.
On the occasion, the deputy minister of home affairs presented the floral bouquet to Hue Archdiocese and read the Christmas letter sent by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc for congratulating Catholic countrymen nationwide on the Christmas festival.
