On March 19, Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà led a delegation to visit and meet with the People’s Committee of Ha Noi city’s Hoai Duc district.
Welcoming the delegation included Chairman of the People’s Council of Hoai Duc district Vương Duy Hưởng and representatives of the district’s People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front and Youth Union.
During the reception, the district’s authorities shared with the guests the socio-economic development of Hoai Duc district over the past years, as well as the implementation of policies and laws on religious affairs for ensuring religious freedom for local people.
As reported, Hoai Duc district currently has three operative religions, namely Buddhism (73 pagodas and 95 dignitaries), Catholicism (six churches, 34 communities with about 9000 followers) and Protestantism (about 75 followers).
Later in the day, the GCRA’s delegation visited and offered incense at Hoai Duc Fallen Soldiers Memorial.
