On September 1, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) hosted a warm welcome for a delegation from the Lao Buddhist Coalition (LBC).
The Lao Buddhist delegation was led by Vice President of the LBC, Most Venerable Ngon Dam Hong Boun, and attended by Standing members of the LBC’s Executive Committee and Mr. Bounthavy Phonethasine, Deputy Director of the External Affairs Department under the Laos Front for National Construction.
During the reception, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà stated that the delegation's visit brought a deep significance to the strengthening of the traditional friendship and special co-operative relation between Vietnam and Laos. He also informed the Vietnamese Government Committee for Religious Affairs and Laos Front for National Construction has maintained a good relationship and the two State agencies always support the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and the LBC to strengthen its cooperation.
The Vice Chairman expressed his hope that the two Buddhist organizations would effectively implement the signed agreement and develop more programs for fostering friendship and cooperation development between the two countries.
Speaking at the reception, Most Venerable Ngon Dam Hong Boun pledged to continue efforts to bolster the relationship between the two Buddhist organizations of Vietnam and Laos. He also thanked the GCRA for its warm welcome and extended greetings to the GCRA and VBS on the occasion of 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution on August 19 and the National Day on September 2.
