Government Religious Committee reviews State management on religious affairs 2015

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) reviewed State management on religious affairs in 2015 and mapped out working plans for 2016 at a conference held on December 14 in Ho Chi Minh city.

Attending the conference included Chairman of the GCRA Phạm Dũng, Vice Chairmen Bùi Thanh Hà and Trần Tấn Hùng, representatives from the Steering Committees of Northwest, Central Highlands, Southwest, the Government Office and leaders of the provincial Committees for Religious Affairs from 63 provinces and cities.

As reported at the conference, religious activities by followers of religions throughout the year 2015 have been conducted in accordance with the law; religions actively participated in the patriotic movement, social and charitable activities, contributing to the construction and defense of the country.

The working plan in 2016, as discussed and approved at the conference, will focus on key tasks, including the completion of a draft law on belief and religion for timely submitting the National Assembly XIV and enhanced understanding of viewpoints and policies of the Party and State on religion…

Speaking at the event, Chairman Phạm Dũng called on the State sector on religious affairs to strengthen coordination amongst authorities at various levels for guiding religious organizations to practice in accordance with the law; promote external religious relations with Laos, Cambodia, China, the Vatican and international organizations with the aim to promote peace and development in the region and the world. 

On this occasion, the GCRA also presented a certificate of merit to organizations and individuals for their outstanding achievements in religious affairs in 2015.
