Government Religious Committee reviews six-month religious affairs in Vietnam North

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held a conference on July 16 in Thanh Hoa province to review its task performance in the provinces and cities of Northern Vietnam in the first six months.

The conference were co-chaired by Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Thị Xuân Thu, and attended by representatives from the provincial committee for religious affairs of 31 provinces and cities in the Northern region.

At the conference, delegates heard reports on the religious situation and results of the first six-month work in 2015 and the working plan for the last six months for the State administration on religion sector nation-wide as well as in the provinces and cities of the Northern Vietnam. Over the past six months, religious activities in the regions have been conducted normally and on a frequent basis, religious harmony has been promoted. Key tasks have been implemented and completed timely, such as the Draft Law on belief and religion, review of ten-year implementation of Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism and the Resolution 25 of the 9th Central Party Committee on religious affairs…

Delegates also raised and discussed on practical and remaining issues relating to religion-related land, building places of worship, deviant beliefs in the region …
