The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held a conference to review its performance 2014 and discuss plans for 2015 on January 6.
Attending the event were Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the GCRA; Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà and Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice Chairmen of the GCRA and all civil servants and officials under the GCRA.
Guests at the conference included Mr. Lê Quang Vịnh and Mr. Nguyễn Thế Doanh, former Chairmen of the GCRA; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Oanh, former Vice Chairman of the GCRA and former directors and officials of departments.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman Phạm Dũng stated that in 2014, religious activities were conducted on stable basis and religious organizations actively participated in building and defending the country. The congresses, conferences and festivals of religious organizations took place solemn and peacefully in accordance with the law.
Over the past year, the GCRA has actively concentrated on the implementation Conclusion 78-KL / TW of the Politburo regarding to the organizational structure of the State governance on religion; drafting of the proposed law on belief and religion; propaganda and implementation of policies and laws of the Party and State suiting the real situation in each region and locality.
Towards celebration of 60th anniversary of the GCRA and the State sector on religious affairs in 2015, the Committee will focus key tasks including completing the draft Law on belief and religion and submitting it to the National Assembly, 13th legislature at its 10th session; reviewing ten-year implementation of Directive 01/2005 / CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on some tasks regarding Protestantism and ten-year implementation of the Party’s Resolution 25 of the 7th Central Party Committee (9th plenum) on religious affairs; training for officials working on state religious affairs.
