Government Religious Committee reviews 20 years implementing state governance on Caodai affairs

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) in collaboration with Long An provincial People’s Committee held a conference to review 20 years of state governance on Caodai affairs (1995-2015) on May 22 in Tan An city.

The conference was co-chaired by Vice Chairman of the GCRA Dương Ngọc Tấn and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Thị Nhanh, and attended by about 100 representatives from the GCRA, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Central Committee Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the provincial VFF and Committee for Religious Affairs of 34 provinces and cities having practices of Caodai religion, and local authorities of Long An province.

As reported at the conference, the state management on Caodai affairs for 20 years (1995-2015) has brought many positive changes, including the organizational recognition of 10 Caodai Churches, one Caodai practicing group, 21 independent Caodai establishments and nearly 1,000 Caodai parishes in 34 provinces and cities.

During the conference, delegates also made further discussion on the draft report of 20 years implementing of state governance on Caodai affairs.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn highlighted results of the state management on Caodai affairs made by administrative authorities at all levels. He also outlined key tasks for the state administration on Caodai affairs in the coming time, contributing to encourage Caodai followers to make further contributions to the socio-economic development in the localities, peace and prosperity in the country.
