Government religious committee receives Vietnam LDS Church’s Coordination Committee

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng received on December 3 a delegation from the Coordination Committee of the Vietnam Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) led by Mr. Hoàng Văn Tùng.  

Joining the reception included Director of the Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương and Chief of the GCRA’s Office Nguyễn Văn Long.

During the reception, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng hailed charity activities sponsored by the LDS church in Vietnam and sent a Christmas greeting card to Mr. Russell M. Nelson, President of the LDS Church on ahead of Christmas 2019.

Head of the Vietnam LDS church’s coordination committee Hoàng Văn Tùng thanked the GCRA for its support extended to the visit of President of the LDS Church Russell M. Nelson in November this year, as well as to social and religious activities of the Vietnam LDS church over the past years.

He also had exchanges with the host on the Vietnam LDS Church’s affairs over the past years and the Christmas 2019’s activities.

The Interim Representative Committee of the Vietnam LDS church was registered in 2014. The Representative Committee of the Church was officially recognized in 2016. In 2019, The Vietnam LDS church received the registration certificate for religious activities in accordance with the Law on Belief and Religion.
