Government Religious Committee receives Vietnam Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc on February 14 hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from the Vietnam Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints led by Mr. Hoàng Văn Tùng, Head of the Church’s Coordination Committee.

Joining the reception included Director of the Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương and Chief of the GCRA’s Office Nguyễn Văn Long.

Speaking with the host, Head of the Church’s Coordination Committee Hoàng Văn Tùng congratulated Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc on being promoted as the GCRA leader. He also informed religious affairs of the Church over the past years including charity programs on education, health, fresh water launched for helping the poor in remote areas and people affected by the Covid-19 with the total contribution value of two million USD.

On the occasion, Mr. Hoàng Văn Tùng expressed hope that in the new post, the new GCRA leader would practically contribute to the state administration on belief and religion as well as create favorable conditions for religious practices of the Church in the coming time.

Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc thanked the Vietnam Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ delegation for its visit. He also spoke highly of the Church’s charity programs and the Covid-19 prevention work over the past years.

The GCRA Chairman expressed hope that the Church would encourage their members to make further contributions for socio-economic development of the country.

Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc took the chance to extend a lunar New Year of good health and success to the Coordination Committee and all members of the Church.
