During the meeting reception, the two sides exchanged on issues of mutual concern, including religious situation in Vietnam, the annual report on international religious freedom by the United States Department of State for next year, and the process of the draft Law on Belief and Religion in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Đức Vinh stated that the international religious freedom report needs to be objective with correct information in order not to influence fine relations between the two countries. He also affirmed that the GCRA is always ready for dialogue with the aim to enhance mutual understanding, particularly on the issue of freedom on belief and religion, as well as human rights in Vietnam.
