Government religious committee receives Pure-land Buddhist delegation

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted a reception on August 1 for a visiting delegation of the Pure-land Buddhist Association

During the visiting reception, Vice President Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh shared with the host results of social and religious affairs of the Buddhist sect over the past years, including the successful national congress and the approved revised charter of the Buddhist association.

The preacher also thanked the government religious committee for its support extended to religious practices of the Buddhist sect and extended warm greetings to all leaders and staff of the GCRA on occasion of the 64th founding anniversary of the state governance on religion.

Speaking with the guests, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà spoke highly of medical charities of the Buddhist association and congratulated the Buddhist sect on the 3rd national congress successfully held in July 2019.

As reported by the Buddhist sect, the Pure-land Buddhist Association currently has 1.5 million members with 212 offices and 218 charitable clinics. In the last five years (2014-2019), medical charities provided by the Buddhist sect, including free health examinations and medicines for the disadvantaged in localities, is estimated at over VND 867 billion.
