On July 13, Mrs. Jenifer Neidhart de Ortiz, the Political Officer of the United States Embassy in Hanoi met with Director of the International Cooperation Department Nguyễn Đức Vinh on her goodbye visit to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) at the end of her working tenure in Vietnam.
At the meeting reception, Mrs. Jenifer Neidhart thanked the GCRA for its support to her tenure in Vietnam. She also expressed her pleasure at the fine development of bilateral relations between the Vietnam and United States.
Director Nguyễn Đức Vinh spoke highly of the contributions the US Political Officer has made to consolidate and intensify bilateral ties between the two countries. He also thanked Mrs. Jenifer Neidhart for her positive assessment of freedom on belief and religion in Vietnam.
The Director expressed his hope that Mrs. Jenifer Neidhart, given her in-depth understanding about Vietnam’s country and its people, would continue to make practical contributions in fostering the fine relation of cooperation between the Vietnam and the US in the time ahead. He also affirmed that the GCRA always stay ready for dialogue and exchange in order to enhance mutual understanding and narrow the differences between the two sides, particularly on the issue of freedom on belief and religion, as well as human rights in Vietnam.
