The Asia Area President Elder Gerrit W. Gong led a delegation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to visit the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on June 4.
Welcoming the delegation included Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà, Director of the Protestant Affairs Department Hoàng Thị Thảo and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department Ngô Thị Xuân Lan.
During the reception meeting, the GCRA and the Church’s delegation exchanged on numbers of religion-related issues, including the draft law on belief and religion, activities of religious organizations in Vietnam in general and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in particular…
The Asia Area President thanked the GCRA for its guidance and support extended to the Church over the years. He also informed the hosts about a planned visit by the Church’s leaders scheduled in August 2015 and invited the GCRA’s representatives to attend the symposium on religion and law to be held in Utah in October this year.
