Government Religious Committee receives Christian delegations ahead of Lunar New Year

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng hosted on January 30 a warm reception for a visiting delegation from the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) (ECVN) led by Pastor President Bùi Văn Sản, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024.

ECVN (North) delegation pays Tet visit to GCRA

During the visit, Pastor President Bùi Văn Sản extended Tet greetings to GCRA’s officials and staff, and noted that, thanks to guidance and support from the GCRA’s and local authorities, religious practices of the Church’s members have been ensured in stable and lawful manners.

For his part, while extending Tet greetings to the Pastor President, pastors and all members of the evangelical Church, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng spoke highly of the Church’s contributions for the socio-economic of the country. He also expressed hope that the Church leadership would continue encouraging its members to proactively join patriotic programs and movements launched by local authorities.

On the Lunar New Year 2024, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng received Pastor Lee Sang Yong from Korea Protestant community in Ho Chi Minh city. He affirmed that Vietnam pursues a consistent policy of respecting and ensuring human rights including the people's right to freedom of religion and belief and the right to freedom of belief and religion for foreigners legally residing in Vietnam is also respected and guaranteed according to the Law on Belief and Religion. 

Delegation from Korea Protestant community in Ho Chi Minh city extends Tet greetings to GCRA

Pastor Lee Sang Yong thanked the GCRA for its support extended to religious practices of Korean Protestants living and working in Ho Chi Minh over the past years. He expressed hope that Korean Protestant community would further receive support regarding visa policies for foreign religious professionals in Vietnam from the Vietnamese Government and competent agencies.

On the same day, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Tiến Trọng has received several religious delegations from Lang Son diocese led by Bishop Joseph Châu Ngọc Tri and the Vietnam Assemblies of God Church led by Pastor Nguyễn Thanh Bình, Head of the Church’s Executive Committee to visit and extend Tet greetings to the GCRA.
