Government Religious Committee receives Chinese Buddhist delegation

Director of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA)’s Department of International Relation Nguyễn Đức Vinh hosted a reception on September 28 for a Buddhist delegation from China’s Qinghai province.

Welcoming the delegation also included representatives of the GCRA’s Office and Department of Buddhist Affairs.

On behalf of the delegation, Venerable Chairman of the Buddhist Executive Board in Qinghai province’s Golok district Hungkar Dorje Rinpoche thanked the GCRA for its welcome and shared about the delegation’s Buddhist activities during its visit to Vietnam from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8/2016.

According to the Venerable, Qinghai province in China currently has about 664 Buddhist monasteries with over 80,000 monks following the Nyingma tradition of the Tibetan Buddhism.

During the welcoming reception, Director Nguyễn Đức Vinh briefed the guests the religious life in Vietnam and Buddhism in the country, as well as the GCRA’s tasks for implementing the state policies and laws on belief and religion.

The Buddhist delegation’s visit contributed to promote Buddhist exchanges of the two countries and maintain good neighborliness and friendship between Vietnam and China.
