Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Thị Minh Nga paid on September 17 a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Kien Giang province.
The official visit accompanied by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, former Vice Chairman of the GCRA, Deputy Director of the GCRA’s Information Center Nguyễn Văn Tiến and Chairman of the Religious Committee in Kien Giang Danh Lắm was welcomed by Senior Venerable Member of the central VBS’s Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Standing Committee in the province Thích Minh Nhẫn.
During the visiting reception taking place in Phat Quang pagoda located in the province’s Rach Gia city, Senior Venerable Thích Minh Nhẫn informed social-Buddhist affairs of the provincial VBS’s executive committee in the province over the past years, as well as took the chance to thank to the GCRA for its due attentions and supports extended to Buddhist practices in the locality.

Speaking with the host, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga spoke highly of practical contributions of the provincial VBS’s executive committee. The official expressed hope that members of the VBS and lay Buddhists in the province will continue upholding fine Buddhist traditions for socio-economic development in the locality.
