A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà paid on November 2 a visit to Zen Buddhist Master Thích Nhất Hạnh currently staying in Tu Hieu Monastery in Hue city.
The GCRA Vice Chairman was accompanied by Director of the GCRA’s Department of Buddhist Affairs Bùi Hữu Dược and representatives of local authorities.
The delegation was welcomed by Most Venerable Thích Đức Thanh, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS’s Chapter in the province cum Head of Tu Hieu Monastery and the Zen Master’s disciples.
During the visit, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà conveyed warm greetings of Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc to Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh, as well as extended his best wishes to the Zen Master.
The GCRA Vice Chairman also stated that state authorities would always create best conditions for the Zen Master to stay in the monastery as his wish.
Earlier, on October 31, a representative disciple from the Zen Master visited GCRA and informed the Zen Master’s wish to spend the remainder of his life in Từ Hiếu Monastery where he started practicing Zen Buddhism in 1942.
