Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) cum Head of the working group of Ministry of Home Affairs Nguyễn Tiến Trọng paid on September 16 a working visit to the Executive Committee of the General Baptist Church in Ho Chi Minh city.
Pastor President of the Baptist Church Lê Quốc Huy welcomed the working group at the Church’s office located in Nguyen Van Troi Street in the city’s Phu Nhuan District.
During the welcoming reception, Pastor President Lê Quốc Huy shared with the guest the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control of the General Baptist Church in general and its An Dien (Grace) Church Chapter located at Nguyen Van Troi street, ward 11, Phu Nhuan district in particularly. He also informed of difficulties in preparations of the Church’s congress.
Speaking with the host, GCRA Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng spoke highly of contributions by the General Baptist Church over the past years. In the complicated context of the pandemic, the Church has guided members to strictly observe Covid-19 prevention and control measures.
Regarding to the Church’s congress in new term, the Vice Chairman urged Pastor President Lê Quốc Huy and the Church’s Executive Committee to early complete preparations or, based on the pandemic situation, propose an extension of the current term and postpone the Church’s congress in accordance with the Law on Belief and Religion.
Sharing with difficulties of the General Baptist Church, on behalf of the GCRA, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng presented some cash to the Church for encouraging and supporting members of the Baptist church affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
