Government Religious Committee official attends 6th congress of Missionary Caodai Church

The Truyền giáo (Missionary) Caodai Church held on April 9 its 6th national congress (the 2023-2028 tenure) in Da Nang city.

Vice Chairman of GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức speaks at the congress

The event taking place at Trung Hung Bao oratory located in the city’s Hai Chau district saw the presence Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal Party Commission for Mass Mobilization Mai Thị Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trần Thị Mẫn, Chairman of the city Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Cao Cường, representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs of Central Highland provinces, and 370 delegates representing 100 chapters of the Missionary Caodai Church.

As reported at the event, over the past five years, the Missionary Caodai Church have built and repaired worshipping facilities of the Church with the total value of over 73 billion VND; published 24,000 copies of  “Song Dao” (Living Faith) Magazine;  spent nearly 21 billion VND on helping people in the Central region affected by floods, and joined hands with local authorities with many practical contributions for the Covid-19 prevention work.

The congress selected eight members to the 6th Standing Committee of the Caodai Church (the 2023-2028 tenure), with Bishop Thượng Thứ Thanh nominated as Chairman of the Committee.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức expressed hope that the executive committee of the Missionary Caodai Church in the new term would continue guiding the Church community to practice the religion according to the Church’s Charter and State laws, and actively engage in patriotic movements and social programs, contributing to build a prosperous and civilized country of Vietnam.
