The meeting was presided by Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics cum Head of the appraisal council, and joint by Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga, members of the appraisal council and representatives of GCRA’s departments.

The document is part of a project on supporting information and propaganda on ethnicity and religion approved by the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 219/QD-TTg dated 21/02/2019.

The document has nine main contents including the overview of religions in Vietnam, state policies and laws on religion in the fields of health, social health care, education, social welfare and relief activities, etc.

During the meeting, members of the appraisal council gave comments adding practical contributions of religions in protecting the country and religious external affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân stated that the document basically overviewed 16 religions in Vietnam, understanding of religious’ role in society as well as state policies & law on social activities of religions.

The document has been approved by all members of the Appraisal Council at the meeting and recommended for publication.
