Government religious committee meets with representative committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in Tien Giang

A delegation from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs led by Deputy Director of Belief and Other Religions Department Trần Minh Thu had a meeting with the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s representative committee in Tien Giang province on October 1.
During the event, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s representative committee pointed out some difficulties for religious practices, such as temporary places for religious practices and delayed administrative approval for land donated to the church’s chapters.
The Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in the province has 17 district-level executive boards with 118 deacons and over 2,000 followers. Over the past years, Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in the province organized 15 religious-tenet trainings for over 1,700 followers.
In regard to charities, followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism in the province have contributed a total of over VND 17.280 billion to social charities, including the building of 46 local bridges, 152 charitable houses, 5.385m of local roads, and provision of 53.896 meals to the poor and the sick in localities.
