Government Religious Committee leader receives overseas Vietnamese in U.S.A

On November 2, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn received Chairman of the Vietnamese community in the U.S State of Texas David Nguyễn Trọng Đức at GCRA’s headquarters.

Welcoming the guest included Director of the Department for Other Various Religions Nguyễn Ánh Chức, Deputy Director of the International Relation Department Ngô Xuân Lan.

At the reception, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention and create favorable conditions for religious organizations to operate, including the opening of training schools for religious dignitaries.

Regarding Hoa Hao Buddhism, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn said, as the Vietnam law allows religious organizations to open professional training schools, so the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church needs to comply with administrative procedures if it wishes to establish a religious training school in Vietnam.

During the reception, the Vice Chairman acknowledged practical contributions by Hoa Hao Buddhism to social  charities, including construction of local roads, bridges, and free distribution of medicines… He also expressed hope that Hoa Hao Buddhism in general and Hoa Hao Buddhist community in the US in particular would promote charity works and contribute to build a strong and prosperous country of Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. David Nguyễn thanked the GCRA for its welcome and brief of religious information in Vietnam. He also pledged to conduct more charitable activities in Vietnam in the coming time.
