Government Religious Committee leader receives LDS Church delegation

Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted a reception for a visiting delegation of the Church  Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) on March 17.

The LDS Church’s delegation was led by Elderly Gerrit W.Gong, Member of  the First Quorum of the Seventy cum President of Asia Area of the church, and joint by Chairman of the representative committee of the Vietnam LDS Church Hoàng Văn Tùng.

Speaking at the welcoming reception, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà praised the LDS Church for charities in Vietnam, especially in fields of medical care and education, and expressed for continuous support by Elderly Gerrit W.Gong for the LDS Church in Vietnam.

The GCRA leader also shared with the guests contents of the Law on Belief and Religion recently adopted by the Vietnam’s National Assembly that will take effect in January 2018, as well as the ongoing process of drafting decrees for guiding the implementation and handling of violations of the law.
