Government Religious Committee leader receives Catholic delegations ahead of Tet holiday

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài  Bắc hosted on January 10 a reception for a visiting delegation from Hanoi Archdiocese led by Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên , ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023.

During the reception, while extending Tet wishes to officials and staff of the GCRA, Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên took the chance to thank the GCRA and local authorities for supports extended to the Vietnam Catholic Church in general, and Hanoi Archdiocese in particular, over the past years.

Speaking with the guests, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc congratulated the success of the 15th congress of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam. While appreciating practical contributions made by the Archdiocese to socio-economic development of Hanoi, the Chairman expressed hope that the Archbishop, priests would continue guiding lay parishioners to conduct religious practices in accordance with the law, contributing to build a civilized and prosperous capital

On the same day, a delegation from Thai Binh diocese led by Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Đệ, former Bishop of the diocese, and Bishop Dominic Đặng Văn Cầu, the new Bishop of the diocese also visited and extended Tet greetings to the GCRA.

On the upcoming Lunar New Year 2023, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc extended Tet wishes of good health and success to the Bishops, priests and lay parishioners of Hanoi Archdiocese and Thai Binh diocese.
