Government Religious Committee leader pays visits to religious organizations in Tien Giang

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc paid on March 16 a visit to My Tho diocese’s Office on occasion of his working visit to Tien Giang province.

Visiting My Tho diocese

The GCRA Chairman accompanied with Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức was welcomed by Bishop of My Tho diocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm, General Secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam.

During the visit, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc spoke highly of practical contributions made by Catholic dignitaries and lay followers in social movements and Covid-19 prevention work in general and Tien Giang province in particular.

He expressed hope that Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm would continue guiding Catholic dignitaries, clergies and lay followers to proactively join social programs and movements launched by local authorities.

* On March 17, the GCRA delegation also visited the Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church in Trung An commune, My Tho city.

Bishop Lê Văn Tròn, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Binh Duc Caodai welcomed and had exchanges with the delegation.

Speaking at the visiting reception, Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc asked the Caodai Church to continue guiding religious practices of its members in accordance with the Church’s Charter and State laws, and opening training courses for religious dignitaries, deacons and lay followers of the Caodai Church.
