On occasion of the working trip in Khanh Hoa province, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng on October 8 visited and met with Bishop of Nha Trang Diocese Joseph Võ Đức Minh.
Joining the visiting reception included Director of the GCRA’s Catholic Affairs Department Lê Minh Khánh and Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee in Khanh Hoa province Nguyễn Hữu Dinh.
During the visit, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng shared with the host developing relations between Vietnam and the Holy See. The Chairman also extended congratulations to the 14th Congress of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam held in early October.
Speaking with the guests, Bishop Joseph Võ Đức Minh took the chance to thank the GCRA for its attention and support extended to the Vietnam Catholic Church in general and Nha Trang Diocese in particular.
Nha Trang Diocese currently home to 220,000 Catholic followers, accounting 12 percents of the population in provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan, with 72 parishes and nine deaneries.
