Government religious committee leader makes final inspection of preparations for UN Vesak

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng on May 10 visited Tam Chuc Pagoda Complex to inspect preparations for the UN Day of Vesak 2019, just two days ahead of the UN Buddhist event.

Within the pagoda complex, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng and his delegation toured the conference center, main worshipping buildings, venues for receiving leaders of states, the Buddhist cultural exhibition place, etc.

Within the inspection visit, the government religious committee official had exchanges with representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the International Council of the UN Vesak, the Ha Nam provincial Government and the Xuan Truong construction corp. for completing all preparations of the UN Buddhist event.

Together with representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the International Council of the UN Vesak and the Ha Nam provincial Government, the GCRA leader has also attended a final rehearsal of the opening and closing ceremonies of the UN Day of Vesak 2019

The United Nations Day of Vesak 2019 will be celebrated at the Tam Chuc Buddhism Culture Centre in Kim Bang district of northern Ha Nam province from May 12-14. All preparation work for the event is entering the final stage. According to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, 1,650 delegates from 112 countries and territories worldwide have registered to attend the event
